The Marche Region hosted the First Co-Creation workshop for identifying blue-economy civic projects

The meeting was held online on the 02/12 and it brought together the main stakeholders in the “Blue Economy” sector at regional level, with the aim of deepening the knowledge of the “Fishery and Aquaculture” sector, identifying the sector more urgent needs and the related possible solutions and generating a direct involvement of the main sectoral stakeholders and their active participation in the first civic crowdfunding campaign to be launched by the Marche Region.

As part of the Interreg Med project "Bluecrowdfunding", the Marche Region Department for Fishery and Aquaculture will implement in 2021 a civic crowdfunding campaign. In order to share the opportunity offered to our regional territory the project team launched a survey targeted to stakeholders working in the BLUE ECONOMY sector within Marche Region with the aim of identifying the main issues affecting the BLUE ECONOMY sector at Regional level and the possible solutions that might become object of the crowdfunding campaign to be implemented in 2021. The survey was held from the 3rd to the 30th of November 2020 and n.77 replies were collected. On following 15 institutional stakeholders who responded to the survey were invited to attend a “First co-creation workshop for identifying blue economy civic projects”. The meeting was held online on the 02/12 and it brought together the main stakeholders in the “Blue Economy” sector at regional level, with the aim of:

  • Deepening the knowledge of the “Fishery and Aquaculture” sector.
  • Identifying the sector more urgent needs and the related possible solutions.
  • Generating a direct involvement of the main sectoral stakeholders and their active participation in the first civic crowdfunding campaign to be launched by the Marche Region.

The workshop was held with the following agenda:

  • Introduction and greetings: Raffaele Pasquali, Laura Anibaldi Gagliardini (Marche Region)
  • Presentation of the BLUE CROWDFUNDING Project (Alessio Lupi, Sviluppo Marche Srl)
  • Introduction to Civic Crowdfunding: Filippo Cossetti, University Professor and crowdfunding expert (Svim Srl)
  • What are the main issues affecting the BLUE ECONOMY sector in Marche Region? Contributions from stakeholders
  • Results of the questionnaire survey (Valentina Bozzi, Sviluppo Marche Srl)
  • Conclusions

The technical workshop with the main stakeholders in the sector represented a fundamental step in the path that will lead the Marche Region to launch its first Civic Crowdfunding Campaign in 2021.

Listening to the contribution of the experts of the Fisheries and Aquaculture sector at regional level allowed the participants to:

  • deepen the knowledge of the issues affecting this sector and discuss about the posible solutions
  • identify potential areas and topics of interest for the upcoming Crowdfunding campaign
  • highlight the coincidence of results between the needs emerged from the workshop and those highlighted by the answers to the questionnaire carried out by the project team.

At the end of the event the project team shared with the participants a double "call to action":

  1. Foster the direct involvement of their colleagues and associates in the first civic crowdfunding campaign to be launched by the Marche Region.
  2. Identify further potential initiatives and project ideas to be debated upon during the next co-creation workshop to be held in January 2021.
